TROPICAL BIRDS SCARF

Our pretty lightweight Tropical Birds Scarf is handwoven from cupro, a luxurious sustainable fabric made from repurposed cotton waste in a closed loop system. The georgette finish of this scarf has the look and feel of silk, but the lightness, easy care, and breathability of cotton. It is the perfect accessory - wear it tied across your shoulders, to accent a plain T, or tied to your purse.

This Fair Trade partner organization is dedicated to preserving the indigenous art forms and culture of their producer artisans by showcasing their products in the global arena. Working with artisans throughout India who use centuries-old craft traditions and the finest natural fibers and fabrics, they help to develop contemporary styles and designs which will showcase traditional, eco-friendly methods of block-printing, weaving, and embroidery. The artisans are members of cooperatives and non-profit organizations, with entire villages frequently being involved in some aspect of production – from dyeing the fibers, to setting the looms, weaving and hand-tasseling. The resulting unique collection of clothing and scarves are wearable works of art made with dignity, respect and attention to sustainability for both people and the planet.
