Batiked Double Spice Dish

Handcrafted by Akamba carvers, this unique spice serving set is carved from wild olive wood and decorated with dyed cow bone inlay. The wild olive wood tree is prized for its richly grained wood. The wood is legally sourced from protected areas and the artisans take great care to utilize large and small pieces of the wood. The bone is waste bone which the artisans buy from a butcher local to their hometown.

  • Wash before first use
  • Hand wash using a soft cloth or sponge and mild soap. Do not soak. Not dishwasher safe.
  • Dry thoroughly, then let piece air dry overnight.
  • To enhance the natural beauty of the wood, periodically rub with vegetable or food-safe mineral oil.
