UPCYCLED TIRE CROSSBODY

These recycled rubber tire bags are hand stitched by paraplegics with spinal injuries who are undergoing rehabilitation in Banepa, Nepal. Besides giving them some self sufficiency, the skills gained enable them to seek outside employment on leaving the rehab facility. Rubber truck tubes are collected from area garages, cleaned and recycled into a variety of bags, thus keeping the rubber from being burned or dumped. Each brass buckle is hand crafted by other spinal injury victims being treated at a neighboring facility. 
The bag has three colored zipper pockets on the front, one on the back of the bag and a zipper on the top. Zipper colors will vary. Cotton lining with adjustable nylon strap. Please email us if you would like to see photos of colors which we have in stock.
